Additionally, a flight carrying 26 Dutch passengers and crew landed safely in the Netherlands. In a precautionary move, a separate flight transporting 18 individuals, including American citizens and one British national, left for the U.S. Some of these passengers exhibited mild hantavirus symptoms, necessitating their transport in biocontainment units.

The evacuation process from the Hondius was meticulously orchestrated by the Spanish government in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).
